SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – Sullivan County leaders are working on creating a family justice center to help victims of domestic violence in the region.

The Sullivan County Family Justice Center Site Coordinator Karen Boyd told News Channel 11, the center is a collaboration between the district attorney’s office, local law enforcement agencies, and local shelters.

Boyd said each of those offices and organizations have committed to work together to help victims of domestic violence through the center.

Boyd said within the next couple of months, she will have a temporary office in Blountville and county leaders are currently working on finding the best location to permanently house the center.

“The really great thing about the Family Justice Center is that victims will be able to come in and sit down with someone who can go over, these are all your options,” said Boyd.

Boyd said the Family Justice Center will bring county resources that have existed for years, under one roof which will be beneficial for victims of domestic violence.
